Lync Device and Skype for Business / Office 365

Hi,
I have an IP phone (yealink T48G) that has a Lync client on it through firmware, and I'm trying to use it to connect to our account through office 365.

The phone asks for a Sign  in Address, Username and password.  Not exactly clear where that info comes from.  Our Office 365 Small business account provides a Skype for business account.  We have a username  (user@company.onmicrosoft.com) and a password for our office 365 account, but don't know about the sign in address.

When I use the Lync Connectivity analyzer and use the address that was given to me by my Office 365 account (user@company.onmicrosoft.com) the analyzer is happy.  The test I ran was: Office 365 Lync Domain Name Server (DNS) Connectivity Test

However when I use that address and my password that I have for office 365, the phone just says "Connect to Server Failed".

I assume that this phone running skype (lync) and office 365 I don't have to worry about DNS records for my domain, either the local domain on a local Windows 2008 Server or our external domain.

I tried looking for a sign in address (which appears to be my username on the local Domain Controller) on office 365 but not alot of luck.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Sign in address is the SIP address, in most cases it will match your primary SMTP address. Whether the actual device supports working with Lync Online is another story. Try manual settings by using sipdir.online.lync.com:443 as the server.

Hi Vasil,

Thank you for the suggestion.

I tried the sipdir line a couple of times and it did not work.  I'm including a screenshot of the attempt.
I'm remote logging into the phone.  This isn't the screen the end-user sees.

Basically there are optimaized phone (not IP phones) but phones that have Skype/Lync clients within them. I know for sure that Snom phones support Office 365 Skype for business.

Some Polycom phones do as well but they are very expensive. you might wanna try them.
Problem was resolved a week before last comment, technician did not have a chance to update the Ticket.
