Openstack static IP

How can I assign a fixed IP to an Openstack Linux vm and that the instance IP will not change after reboot.  Currently we have DHCP setup for spinning up vm instances.
Thanks

If you can, map mac address of vm to static ip address on DHCP

Thanks for the link.

Can anyone else offer a solution for me.
Well openstack is about provisioning so doing it by DHCP reservation is the "right" way to go.
After the machine is up & running you can modify the network configuration if needed to a static one, but why use a provisioning service then kind of defeats the whole purpose of openstack.

How will depend on the OS used. RedHat, CentOS use different methods from Debian at. al

And yes, a provisioning service starts with a plan and a design and hardly organic.
Here is the link to Set static IP on Linux (Ubuntu/Centos/Fedora..etc)  By modifying the network settings.
