Why do browsers and file explorer use "anonymous" to try to login via FTP. Even with credentials provided?
We have setup a FileZilla Server. Anytime a user tries to login with file explorer, IE, or Chrome, we get "anonymous" login attempts. The log below is just 1 person accessing via IE.
With it doing this, FileZilla anti-hammering kicks in and then increases the delay between logins and folder access.
I understand why it does it, what I cant seem to figure out is how to explain it to a programmer (bossman) that we need to use an FTP client over file explorer, and why IIS did not have issues with this.

except where we need to share processed data with a client. If there is a better way im all ears. But the boss is pretty happy with the process, and the only reason for restrictions is to prevent clients from seeing other client data. none of it stays for longer than 90 days.
