Unable to access EC2 instance after importing VM

I recently imported a Debian 6 VM into AWS and launched an instance. The import was successful, I assigned an elastic IP but I'm unable to SSH or ping the instance. I have my security wide open, accepting all inbound and outbound traffic but I still have no connectivity to the Linux VM.

Any ideas?
