PowerPoint VBA - simple Shapes question!

Newbie question!

I know
Set osld = ActivePresentation.Slides(1)
osld.Shapes("shape 4").ApplyAnimation

But, how can I avoid having to find the Slide Number?

My presentation will have up to 20 slides, but the Slide Names are unique.
Thanks!

Rgonzo1971, ok so I have to loop through the Shapes. I was hoping I can do directly to the Shape (and without having to specify/know which slide it's on). Thank you.

sktneer, I should have said 'without the slide number or name'.
Shapes are the slide objects and I don't think that you can reference a shape without referencing either the slide index or slide name,
