I have a computer using QB 10.0 POS.  I open it and it attaches to a company file.

I want to attach a second computer to the same file... where is it?  How do you locate it?

I've searched the registery for clues...

Open QuickBooks, and open a Company File. Allow it to fully open and then press Ctrl-1.  An information window will open. Part way down, see File Information and it will tell you precisely where the QuickBooks file is located. Works perfectly.

Ctrl + 1 (one) didn't pull anything up...

Are you sure you opened the Company File so you can see Accounts et al?  That is how you find information and how it has been done nearly forever.

Another way is to close the Company File, keep QuickBooks OPEN and then go File Open Previous Company and the fly out will show locations.

Yes... I can see customers, etc.  This isn't a typical QB that I have seen.

This is not a standard QB Application - very different.

I am looking the help file and it suggests the information you want may be in File, Preferences. I would look around all the possible areas here.   Also look in File, Tools (although probably not here but do look).

Also see if you can back up your company file. That may tell you in the dialogue where the file is.

Try opening a new Company as one of the options in the Help File is to open an existing company.

Tried backup... justs backs up to the "default" location without indicating from where.

Thank you for you help John...  What I did was, from the workstation that was working, is put  QB in single user mode, then back to multi user mode.  It worked!
