I have a client that has windows server 2008 32bit and need to run TLS 2.1. We need to upgrade it to windows server 2008 R2. Does any know if you can just upgrade it or do you have to do a new install?
As we explained in our notification from January 15, 2016, the National Association of REALTORS® is currently upgrading the REALTOR® Ecommerce Network to version 1.2 of the Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocol. We’ve since learned that PayPal’s credit card processing service is also being updated to require TLS 1.2. These services have announced the following deadlines, after which the TLS 1.2 protocol will be required for all credit card transactions:
•March 23, 2016 – REALTOR® Ecommerce Network Deadline for TLS 1.2 Support
•June 17, 2016 – PayPal Deadline for TLS 1.2 Support
After the date listed above for the service used by your association, all credit card transactions must be processed using servers and workstations that support the TLS 1.2 standard:
•Server Requirements – Windows Server 2008 R2 or later
•Workstation Requirements – Windows 7, Windows 8.1, or Windows 10, with Microsoft .NET Framework version 4.5 or later
