AD CS email certificates

I have set up an AD CS server which has given out User certificates and Machine certificates, recently I set up the two email certificate templates and those too have been issued to a test group.  The issue I am facing is that the certificates show up in the Active Directory Objects store and not in the Personal store, further more when I export the email certificates from the ADO store and import them into the Personal store they still are not recognized by Outlook to allow me to sign and encrypt emails.
