Best practice with OEM Windows 10 Clients
Hi
Till Windows 8.1, I was used to remove botware from a new OEM client before delivering to the customer. My question now with Windows 10 can I reinstall all clients with the Media Creation Tool? I tried to reinstall a Tablet and it could not be activated after.
Many thanks in advance

The newest version of the media creation tool allows upgrades from qualifying systems that have an activation key and the key from the previous install will be accepted. Otherwise you need to run the upgrade within their current qualifying system to activate and then wipe and reinstall with Windows 10 when the activation status will be recorded and reimplemented.
A common error when reinstalling fresh with media creation tool is to enter a key when requested. If the system was successfully upgraded earlier with 10 there's no need to enter a key when asked during the reinstall. An unactivated installation will be created but this will be activated automatically online once the hardware is recognized. Entering an invalid or proxy key just to get past that stage results in a Win 10 system that won't activate.

I’m talking about brand new clients that came with Windows 10 (not upgrades). So you all will confirm that I can do a clean install on those clients?

You are very welcome and I was happy to help.
Yes, you can. I have done this a few time. The Media Creation tool I use from Microsoft is for individual retail (including OEM) licenses. It is not for volume licenses . Your license is stored in the Microsoft Licensing Servers and that is why is works.
I tried to reinstall a Tablet and it could not be activated after. <-- I think something else may have gone wrong here.
