Is it possible to turn Cooler Master Silencio 550 into an air purifier ?

I suppose you could install ozone generators, UV lights, HEPA/charcoal filters, etc etc, but the cost of doing so would be quite prohibitive, and you'd have to get the setup exactly right in order for things to work correctly. It's not just a matter of stuffing things in a case, in other words. I'm in the HVAC industry, and before the advent of all-in-one air purifiers many in our industry would build their own. More often that not they did not work, simply because the components were not installed correctly, or worked against each other.

Long story short - if you want an air purifier, buy an air purifier :) .

So, your Cooler Master Silencio 550 is just a PC box?

Of course you can have a box + fans + filters, but don't ask me about efficiency.

But if you want a sophisticated one, maybe air ionizer with high voltage, then you need more skills and components.

So, what exactly do you intend to make when you say by air purifier?

The Silencio 550 has built-in slot for dust filter and fan at the front. I wonder if it can be used at the same time as an air purifier, so I do not need an additional air purifier.

Ia m not a specialist as Scott McDaniel, but I would say is not very efficient.
