Orphaned vm's shoing up in vCenter

I started to see orphaned vm's show up indie vCenter for no reason.  The new vm's would show up with a _MHC(orphaned) extension.  I have no idea what is causing this but so far it is only on one host server in the vcenter.  Does anyone have an idea what is happening?

Thank you for pointing me in the right direction.  There is a outside consultant that is doing a manual health check( hence the MHC ext) on the Veeam virtual machines.  Not sure why they are creating orphan machines but he told me it was not a problem and could be deleted.  Thank you for the quick reply!
