Setup SQL Server with Excel for data analysis

I am looking for a step by step for a very basic SQL Server setup for taking large (100K + lines of data with 20+ columns), importing into SQL DB and then using Excel to query. Do you have some starter advice for setup?

Thanks; I have one Excel sheet where I am doing some IF(IFERROR()) and VLOOKUP() which take 4+ hours and even on X64 sometimes get out of memory errors. The data I am consuming is also shared and others have similar issues.
I am just looking for best practices for setting up SQL Server for this purpose
