One more IMPORTANT thing ... if you are using optical GBICs or SFPs &nbsp;make darned sure that the ones attached to the HBA and external enclosure are all supported with each other, and you get the right cabling.<br />

If distance is short, you may be able to get away with using copper cabling. That is cheaper and there are less compatibility issues.
