MSSQL server trace file

Hi,

Our mssql server mountpoint growing faster due to SQL server profiler - trace data file.

Around 3 years files available in the location and using up 200GB disk space.

May I know if can we delete some of the audit trace file in mssql?

Is this will cause any impact to our GFI data?

Please advice,
Thanks,

No impact by deleting Profiler trace file, only old trace would not be available of that time period.

If you want to retain this data then you can compressed the OLD trace files using winzip or Windows default compression tools.

However no impact on sql server if you delete these files.
