Windows 7 Home Key (License)

Hi,
I have a client with a laptop running W 7 Home. It is still up and running but I need to replace the HDD. The problem is that
the Microsoft sticker is so worn that I can; t read the W 7 license.
Is there a program, preferably free, that, when run, will tell me what the Windows 7 key license is?
Will the same program work with W 8.1 and or W 10?
Thanks

Lee,
Does it get the license from an operating system that is pre installed by the manufacturer (OEM) and when I get the license from "Magical Jelly Bean" will it work when I install W 7 on a new HDD.
Thanks

Understand that a KEY is NOT a LICENSE.  A key ENABLES a license.

You're welcome — happy to help. And the answers to your other two questions are both yes — it will show the key (I'm sure you meant key, not license) on an OEM/pre-installed OS and it will show the key when you install the OS on a new HDD/SSD/SSHD. Regards, Joe
