Hi Experts,
Is it possible that an email address going to anything@example.com is valid? I know you can't buy an MX record for example.com, but just to be sure...

I don't think a test like that is sufficient since most likely there's nobody on the planet that would use example.com anyway... I just need to know if it's possible.
And thanks everyone for your input here. the link to iana is convincing, but it's talking about domains in the context of a web browser... Not email addresses. If I knew more about the servers routing emails, I'd probably know that email addresses also cannot have that domain for equivalent reasons - but is there anything anyone can show me that pertains specifically to email addresses?
