dfs article technet

hello friends,
I am trying to find this article explaining  dfs https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc782417%28v=ws.10%29.aspx, but for new operating systems like 2008 or 2012, but unfortunately such a detailed explanation article seems to exist only for win 2003, or I am not able to find this updated to win2008 or win 2012.
Can anyone give me a link for this article but for win 2008 or win2012

My guess is this is because the article you're looking at is a "beginner's" description of what DFS is  and what it does.  This hasn't really changed with the newer operating systems.  The newer articles for 2008 and 2012 are specific "how to set up" kind of articles because there are differences in the process for the different operating systems, or "what's new" articles to explain the changes between 2003, 2008 and 2012.

Here's an article for 2008 server:

10x for your commnet paulmacd, I've already setup the DFS. What I was looking was something more how dfs works internally. Nothing in this articles are written how the technology works in depth( for example, when the client tried to access dfs, it goes to domain controller, than to namespace servers, etc..., something in that direction.)

this is the article that I have provided in my question on the first post, it's for windows 2003 and I am wondering if everything explained in this article still applies to other version like win2008 and win2012
