Create Answer File for EXE
I'm wanting to create an answer file for an exe install file. I've tried the /saveinf and /guionly options from a command prompt but there is no output file even though I specify one. There are no errors doing this.
Any thoughts ?

This would depend on the software manufacturer.
If designed right, you should be able to run the following from the command line:
This will extract the software to an administrative directory and allow you to configure an answer file, if supported.
Sometimes software manufacturers include a help file with switches they support.
Do you know if the application's installer provides either of these?

Running the exe from a command prompt with /admin just starts the installation with no information. The vendor does not provide any installation instructions outside the normal run command.

If no options such as this information from Microsoft is provided, then it is going to be an uphill battle for you to deploy.

One other option is to look into software that and help you create a snapshot of the installation process.

If the program the manufacturer used to create the installer exe doesn't support options you will have to go thru them, or extract everything and create your own installer, which would probably violate any user agreements with the software...
