found out that I'm getting below error when opening the power shall in exchange, having checked the permission -> organization management -> member show "administrator" , since my current exchange version is still in CU 1, what I,m trying to do is to upgrade to CU 11, and do I need to follow below step now a day ?

Start Maintenance Mode:
(**You need to open up the Exchange Management Shell as Administrator or point 3 will give you a permission error**)
Open up an elevated Exchange Management Shell and run the 4 commands, let each one complete before doing the next one:
      Set-MailboxServer <Server Name> -DatabaseCopyActivationDisabledAndMoveNow $True
      Set-ServerComponentState –Identity <Server Name> –Component HubTransport –State Draining –Requester Maintenance
      Suspend-ClusterNode –Name <Server Name>
      Set-MailboxServer –Identity <Server Name>–DatabaseCopyAutoActivationPolicy Blocked

Start Exchange 2013 CU6 Upgrade:

Hi,

steps bellow are for DAG environment, but since you have only 1 exchange server, no need to do that.
Just download CU 11, and run it. That is it..

PS: I would create backup of exchange, just in case. Never had problem, but you never know :)

Regards,
Ivan.
noted with thanks !!
