You have to login and get the uc540_8.6.2 update package and local.  Since you are on 12. You may gave to go through intermediate updates unless you want to recreate the config from scratch and possible lose info from the cue .......

From Cisco you need to get the phone related config pack for your call manager.

The you need to download the latest  device package for your exact version. I recommend you start handling the product versions in their complete format, such as 10.5.2.13900-12. Why? because when you are dealing with this kind of situations, you must know the exact version. For example a device package version 10.5.1 to enable the new phone model won't work on a Callmanager version 10.5.2

So first, get the exact version string, and then head to

https://software.cisco.com/download/type.html?mdfid=285963825

Where you will find the  Unified Communications Manager/CallManager Device Packages option. Click there and download the latest dev pack. Install it on your CM and once the installation finishes on every single node in the cluster, reset the nodes operating system one by one starting with the publisher. Your ip phones will show up afterward. what specific model are you looking to enable?

I am on version 10.5.2.10000-5 and I want to download the phone type for Cisco 8845 model.
Can I download only for this model phone or it has to be complete download..WIll it ugrade for all the 7961,7962 etc models I have on the network and will all the phones reset ?
arnoldCommented:
Use the link to locate the data and it will answer your question. The phones will not auto reset unless you update the firmware that will be pushed on the phones you have.
José MéndezCommented:
it will upgrade ALL firmwares for all models. And the phones will probably reset. My advice, and Cisco's advice, plan a maintenance window during off hours for optimal availability.

You cannot just add the firmware for the 8845s. You have to install the dev pack to accommodate new rows in the database.
