Dell Latitude E7440 Battery

I see in the battery settings (power/sleep settings) that it says:

Battery 1 This battery is not available for use
Battery 2 Fully Charged
...

Can 2 batteries be installed?  If so , how?

Thanks ,

??? ?

I don't know that particular laptop model, but with many Dell laptops you can remove the Optical drive from it's bay, and instead use a 2nd battery there.
The Dell 7440 only has one battery installed and it does not have an optical drive.

If you turn over the notebook (closed), the battery is placed at the front of the device.

Do you have any other devices installed/attached?

Yes, I said that the 7440 does not have an optical drive.

Yes, a second battery can be attached externally.

Battery 1: Accessory battery ( see link )

Battery 2: Primary battery ( see link )

@Michael, the first link is an external battery but not one that the OS would see as an internal battery, it's more like at powerbank. Thats why I've asked if there are any other devices installed/attached :)
Thanks ,

was just wondering why software / (OS) would say this:

Battery 1 This battery is not available for use
Battery 2 Fully Charged
