HP Think Client Issues (Model HP T520)

We are running around 50 Virtual Client machines running MS Windows 10 in our infrastructure (VDI) so that users can just connect to them remotely using HPT520 Thin Clients via RDP (Basic layer is Ubuntu 12.04) . There are actually two issues that we can't explain:

1.

When some USBs are connected to the Thin Client, they automatically get their formats changed from NTFS to exFAT & hence don't work on the Windows 10 VM. (The resolution, though is to plugin the USB into any regular machine, copy the existing data, reformat the USB to NTFS and copy the data back again, but however it consumes a lot of time and won't be helpful in peak hours.

2.

If the USBs are connected to the thin client Windows 10 (Virtual Level) they show up as mapped drivers and not a regular local USB Storage.
So we're basically trying to find a solution for both points, though 1 would still be nice.

Sounds legit if we're thinking from a regular Ubuntu machine's prospective. The issue would be that the HP thin client doesn't allow running most of the scripts on its terminal. As an example, the apt-get repository is empty.

So in case I'm gonna start digging into the NTFS support, mess a bit with the configuration files, unlock the rest of the terminal's features, resolving it and applying it manually to 50 other thin clients. Do you think that there could be a better way?
