Add WIFI network to iphone for later use

Hello,
I'm wondering if it's possible to add the settings for a specific WIFI network even though you are not near the network.  That is, we have an executive that we need to input the settings (SSID, WPA2 key, etc) into their iphone so when they are in the range of that WLAN it will automatically connect.    Every time I try to do this, the only option allowed is "Join" and it tries to join a network that doesn't exist (at the time).

Does anyone know if this is possible?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Apologies for not reporting back.  I was unable to confirm if this works but would still like to award points because it's the best answer/solution I've received (or found).
