I have setup a sftp server using SuSe Linux, and created some accounts for sftp only.  How can I set in the server to restrict the user can only upload files, but not to download any files from the server?

Thanks.

the best way is to move the files to another location after upload.

The sftp is a component of OpenSSH.
Disabling world/group readable from the permissions might prevent the download of files not owned by the user when dealing with transferring any (*) files in the directory.

I.e chmod 733 is a write only for group/world and would be permission set restrict .. No listing of contents...

If two separate users try to transfer a file identically name could run into issues where obe overwrites the other...

Ftps is much more manageable
