It is only for using google drive, google docs/sheets and printing to a network printer. I will want to connect to a docking station and use 1 to 2 additional monitors as well as the laptop screen.
For this case, we ended up not using Chrome Books. As it turned out, we found too many issues where desktop apps were required. I could find some work arounds via 3rd party apps that were just that, work arounds.
I think if your only need was to work in word processing, spredsheets, internet or web based email (I am not a fan of web based gmail), then this could be a good option.
The end result was the complete opposite, Instead of a cheap chromebook, went with the MS Surface Book Pro with 8gig RAM w GPU and 250 Gig HD. Been working very nicely.
