vVolumes in vSphere 6

Queries on vVolumes if can be used during upgrade we are planning from 5.5 to 6

current version of vmware is 5.5  and we are using netapp san in current infra
Further have quires..to understand more on it...
> Requirement from vmware and SAN side to get this vvol configured during migration from 5.5 to 6 ?
> will that need any downtime ?
>File format VMFS or something else would be used further on vvol n datastore we will create in 6 ?
>how vvol with directly interact with vms and what about size increase @VM or vvol level?
> No more dependency on datastore creation and limit of max 256 ? if we use vvol?

fine i checked for this, still not able to understand how complete vvol or some  size of vvol will be directly given to vm?

vvol also have same limitation like datastore max count 256 ?

 and mapping/zoning process form san end would be same for diff esxi host ?

my vendor is ready to provide that san plugin ,but how i need to integrate this  to migrate existing infra ?

Before we start discussing specifics, what SAN, Make and Model do you have?

If your SAN vendor is not compatible, then that is your first hurdle.
