Deleting 10,000 files from an Outlook folder

I have users who have accumulated 10 or 20 thousand files in their deleted items folder in Outlook (Exchange 2010) and want to know if there is a way to bulk delete them. Obviously selecting them all and hitting delete just locks up Outlook 2010, 2013.  Any ideas?
Thanks

nashiooka,
That sounds good but also a little scary.  I started to create a rule but am unsure of the exact steps in creating and then executing. Can you provide more detail on each Outlook 2010 rule screen?
Thanks
