Keyboard & Mouse issues

I have an almost new HP 23q-112 with windows 10.

The keyboard & mouse are wireless; there seems to be a usb connector for these plugged into a usb port.

Lately the keyboard & mouse have has some big issues.

The keyboard will take a typed in letter, like say s and where I typed one s as part of some other word, it repeats it 5 - 6 times. Other letters too.

At times, the mouse pointer is VERY difficult to control. I move the mouse, the pointer jumps all over the place.

These things do NOT happen all the time. The mouse behavior seems to be VERY bad after restarting, 1st 10 - 12 minutes. Right now, it's completely normal.

The typing issue seems to occur sporadically. Right now, it's fine. It seems worst when I have a LOT of tasks running.

I restarted about a half hour ago. Before I entered my PIN, I unplugged the usb piece (that I assumed was the wireless KB & mouse connector) & plugged it back in. No keyboard issue since, but the mouse was terrible the 1st 10 minutes or so after I rebooted.

I just so happen to have another wireless KB &mouse never used; I am thinking about powering off, unplug the usb connector for the current mouse & KB & plug the other one in a different usb port.

The question is (1) What causes this behavior & (2) does trying the other one have any downsides?

The unused one is a Logitech. The current are HP (came with the computer)

Hello
I would like you to remove the mouse and just run the keyboard and see if this problem will happen ,if it is still on try the inverse KB off Mouse On and see ,cause i think there might be an overlap between these two .

If I unplug the dongle for the hp kb & Mouse & plug in the Logitech, I'm guessing I would do this with power off, then start. Will the Win 10 find the new ones & recognize them so all will work seamlessly right off?

Thanks

With USB devices you don't need to power off prior to plugging it.  Win10 should detect the new ones when you plug them in.

You can certainly change a USB mouse while the computer is on. I always shut down before changing keyboards.

You definitely don't need to power off ,just turn off the mouse and just run the KB and see .

To all,

I switched to the Logitech Mouse & KB yesterday; so far, perfect.

And much more easily human engineered.

Thanks
