Inventory Management in Quickbooks

Looking for a solution (cheap) to count inventory the fastest way possible.  Currently we have no scan guns or wifi in the warehouse.  We house at least 100,000 items.  What I would like is a scan gun that I can load an excel worksheet that has columns for our Item# (Barcode data), Description, Qty and fill ins for bin locations so pickers can scan what's there and it will save to the spreadsheet in the gun.  Added feature would be a fill in line for bin location so future picking would be easier for our pickers.

I can then download the spreadsheet and reconcile with our QB inventory.

Any advice Experts?

This being year 1 of using scan guns it will be more work than in subsequent years because there is currently no co-relation between the UPC code and the product item (database lookup) so you have to scan the code, enter the item name, and the count.  Later on you have to match the scancode/itemname to your inventory item name. In subsequent years you can use the scan gun at the recieving dock to add items as they come in. Building the initial database is always the hardest part.

We have the relationship there.  The barcode is our item number, a 16 digit number. I have an excel sheet with all items (active).  I can even scan an item in Quickbooks to look it up but what I want is a gun that I can store that sheet and when scanned, it goes to that item so I can update quantities and add a bin location.

Batch loading circumvents the problem of environments where wireless data transfer is not feasible.
