Server 2012 R2 The specific network names is no longer available
Hello, my files server can no longer be accessed on network. Even from own server if I navigate to share path I get this error.
"\\server\share is not accessible. You might not have permissions to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permission

If I try to create new share. I get same error.

Do you have the same issue using the ip address?

Yes. My other file server works fine.
1. reset DNS
2. run ipconfig /flushdns from a command prompt
3. does the server name resolve using nslookup

nslookup did not work. Tested with my other servers and it resolved except with problem server.

If I ping server my name it does work though.
DNS issue, check DNS and see if there is a duplicate A record.
Did you do ipconfig /flushdns on the server having a problem.
Check the NIC make sure there's not a wrong entry.

No duplicate A record. Flushed dns and checked NIC and all settings are fine.
Now I am able to do nslookup but still get that error when opening drive.
