Computer locks up daily

I have a new Dell Latitude E7450 running Windows 7 Pro and it freezes several times a day.  I can't find any errors in the system logs that would account for this problem.  The computer has to be restarted each time it happens.  There doesn't seem to be any activity that is causing this.  Quite often it freezes when left alone for a few minutes and other times while actively working on a spreadsheet.  I've ran the Dell Diagnostics and they all pass so it doesn't look like a hardware issue but I can't be sure.

Can you check in Task Scheduler if there is any task scheduled for the time when it freezes?
Open Reliability Monitor (Action Center). What errors are there?

Try removing memory and only using one chip at a time. See if memory has a hardware problem. This could be the cause.

Use TDSS Killer and look for Root Kit viruses.
Would you please describe a little more fully what you mean by "locks up"?  Blank screen?  BSOD?  Mouse movement?

ASKER

The screen freezes.  The mouse will continue to move for a few more minutes if you allow it to wait that long but eventually even the mouse stops responding and you have to force a power off restart.

Answers to my questions?
how is the power setting for the system and display?
try setting it to never power down for a test
I'm still having issues with this laptop but I can't troubleshoot it at the moment.  The machine is constantly in use except when it freezes and has to be restarted.  I'm not abandoning this post.
you can also install speedfan - to monitor the temperatures of cpu and gpu
