I'm planing to give an XML archive to be saved at the application folder where the .EXE will remain<br />

This XML contains the key of perpetual application's use, with the name and other informations about the user. If something is changed in this XML file the license no longer works out.<br />

Is it possible to &quot;encryptate&quot; this file to be opened in a manner it could be &quot;desincryptated&quot; and read when the user enter the application to check license?<br />

If this is not a good way in doing that could you suggest another?<br />

How to encryptate a XML file to be used as a license key of a C# application ?

Encryption is the process of encoding messages or information in such a way that only authorized parties can read it. In an encryption scheme, the intended communication information or message, referred to as plaintext, is encrypted using an encryption algorithm, generating ciphertext that can only be read if decrypted. For technical reasons, an encryption scheme usually uses a pseudo-random encryption key generated by an algorithm.
