Exchange Activesync
One of the options in the ActiveSync Policy is "Require Encryption on the Device." The question is what does the encryption? Does Exchange provision this encryption on the device once Exchange email is setup or does the end user have to do something? Also is there a way to verify that this encryption is set on the device, if that option is selected in the policy?

Once this option is set, exchange pushes encryption to the device.  If this is a company phone and you are setting this option fine, but if the users are bringing their own device this may cause them to loose functionality that they were used to.  When the device connects to activesync you will see the device being encrypted.

ASKER

I performed this test and I didn't see the device being encrypted. It showed no status bar or anything. Just the typical exchange notification allowing for provisioning of the device. Is there something that will pop up. I also disabled "Allow non-provisionable devices". The device i tested was and iphone 4S with IOS 7x.
