How to capture emails for mailing list in WordPress

Hello. I have a WordPress site and I would like to have a text box or something that I can use to capture email address for my newsletter.  I saw they have plug ins that are supposed to do that but they don't seem to work for me.  My WordPress install is on a Windows Server 2012 R2 using IIS 8.5.   Can anyone give me some advice on the best way to do this or the best plug in to use? I have read that it is best to use a plug in that works with MailChimp.  I do have a MailChimp account if that is the best way to go.

Thanks chilternPC.  From reading the information I found on this site I was going to go that route but I decided not to.  I actually ended up installing a few plugins (contact form 7 and contact form to DB) This worked perfectly for me.  I have a form with text boxes for name and email and a submit button which once clicked just drops the information into the database and sends the user to a confirmation page.  I can then just export the database table in format that I need in order to send out my newsletter. I can even export it and use it in MailChimp.
The mailchimp plugin is probably the best way to go.
