Setting up Quickbooks with company file on server share

Hello, I would like to setup Quickbooks so the company file is on a server share,  where two computers running QB can access it. There will not be two users or two accounts and there will not be concurrent sessions. Just the ability to open the file from two systems by the same user. The user will open the QB file and work from one system most of the time. However, once in a while they will need to use the other system.

In this setup can I just store the company file on a share, then direct  QB on the two computers being used to load it from that location? I don't need to setup Multi-User mode or do anything else correct?

thank you
You are very welcome and I was happy to help.
Upon reading your post, I immediately thought of Qbox as a resource that could potentially meet some of your needs. If you find yourself looking for a collaboration or file sharing resource that could aid in accessing your QuickBooks files even if your computer is completely shut down, you will want to check out Qbox.

With Qbox, users continue to use the same desktop version of QuickBooks. However, using Qbox, you will have a locally hosted copy of the file that is continually synchronized with your remote copy. In other words, no more sending QBW files back and forth, no more screen sharing, no expensive cloud hosting and no more downloading/uploading of QuickBook files.

It is a great resource and I would highly recommend visiting their website at www.qboxplus.com for more information :)
