Exchange 2010 DAG backup

Hi,
I have a problem clearing exchange logs after backup. Let me first describe the current configuration.

There are (were) two virtualized exchange 2010 servers (EX1 and EX2 with DB1 and DB2) at different locations connected by 10 Mbps link used also for other purposes.
At start there was one database DB1 at EX1 for users located at first site and second database located at EX2 for users located at second site.
Then it was created a test DAGDB on these two servers with a test DAG database active on EX1 and healthy copy status at EX2. Two existing mailboxes were moved to this test DAGDB.
When running backup DAGDB and DB2 logs gets truncated, but not BD1 logs. For backup is used DPM. Also running local windows full backup does not make any difference.

DPM says: synchronization for replica of mailbox database DB1 in EX1 failed besause the replica is not in a valid state or it is in an inactive state. ID 30300 Details: Vss Error: the writer experienced a non-transient error. If the backup process is retired, the error is likeky to reoccur. 0x800423F4

Windows backup says: Last backup successful. MSExchangeIS 9781 Exchange VSS Writer has successfuly completed the copy or differential backup of database DB1. No log files were truncated for this database.

The final plan is to have two databases in this DAG, where on EX1 is DB1 active and DB2 passive and on EX2 DB1 is passive and DB2 active. Should I have some problems (including backup) using this configuration?

Thank you for your help!

They are all ready with no error.
Are you backing up the primary database or the copies?  For the logs to clear you need to back up the primary.

Have you contacted the back up software company?  They would be able to tell what is going wrong via there logs.

DB1 and DB2 does not have DAG copies.
When running backup DAGDB and DB2 logs gets truncated, but not BD1 logs. For backup is used Microsoft DPM.
Are you still monitoring this question?

I have already done so, because I was running out of space. It makes no difference. Logs are still not truncated.
Another thing I have noticed - even if I choose full backup option at windows backup, I see "Advanced option: VSS Copy Backup" in last confirmation window.

Update: The logs gets truncated only if I choose custom backup and VSS full backup under advanced options...

I don't know exactly what I have done, but the problem has gone.
