"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Not free, but PRTG is free for up 100 sensors and easy to setup, so maybe that could do it easily (switch number dependent).

You have more here and here

Depending on which Cisco switch you have there may be a Cisco network Assistant app available.
It will provide a lot of information

Hi Ross,

I would recommend you to use Cacti.
It is an amazing tool.

PRTG and CNA are nice ones. You could also have a look at http://www.solarwinds.com/freetools/network-device-monitor.aspx and http://www.solarwinds.com/products/freetools/network_analyzer_bandwidth_monitoring_bundle.aspx

Some of those free tools are quite handy sometimes.
