I have seen that once and the workaround was to disable the built-in soundcard each time before you connect the HDMI cable and then the hdmi sound card was automatically selected and worked.<br />
That workaround is stil in use so no real solution was found. I suspect the culprit is the hdmi audio driver which is usually bundled with the grapics driver, so update those instead.

I got a vostro 220s slim desktop which I connected to plasma TV using HDMI port. OS: win 10 x64 pro. I upgraded this PC from win 7 to win 10.<br />

The Audio is unable to pass through to the TV. Under speakers setting the TV audio output shows disabled. Audio to aux speakers and internal speakers works fine. <br />

I tried updating audio drivers from dell website but still the audio output on the TV shows disabled. I need to use the audio from the TV only. Can someone help out ?<br />

I got a vostro 220s slim desktop which I connected to plasma TV using HDMI port. OS: win 10 x64 pro. I upgraded this PC from win 7 to win 10.
