"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Personally I've never had any major issues upgrading .NET versions in recent years. But I found this helpful guide Microsoft put together that should show any possible issues.

from 4 to 4.5 is a no brainer. You just need to ensure that your users have the correct version of the framework installed.

Thanks all for the solutions mentioned above. i actually had to remove some 3rd party dlls like NServiceBus which had some functionality which was obsolete even after upgrading . So, i removed them implement just through MSMQ and built the solution to overcome the issues .

Otherwise there was no changes that i had to do to compile the solution .
