Stream HD Video Wirelessly from Sony Handycam to YouTube
I have a Sony HandyCam which has an HDMI out port. I'd like to stream this feed directly to YouTube or at least back to my computer then send the live video to YouTube. Is there a device I can use to stream directly to YouTube? If not directly to YouTube then back to my computer then to YouTube?
Alternatively I'd be happy with a 1080p webcam where I could send the video feed wireless to a laptop then off to YouTube. There will be strong wifi within the room I'm capturing the video and my laptop will be within 10 feet of the camera. Livestream has a solution but its proprietary to their service. Thanks in advance.

You just need some HDMI capture card then some good H264 encoder (like vlc for start)

These solutions are great for wired. If I'm gonna go wired I think I could just get a good 1080p webcam and run a long USB cable. What about transmitting the Handycam video wireless to my laptop for a YouTube live stream? Something like Broadcaster Pro but to YouTube instead of to LiveStream.
As a note, almost nobody will be watching a YouTube video at high res except maybe when its a commercial movie or a TV show they send to their flat screen. 720P will be more than adequate and cut your file size by 50%.
With Webcam's, pay attention to the optical zoom specs. A digital zoom is garbage.
Would you want pan, tilt, and zoom controls from the PC?
Do you have access to an ios device or a Mac to set it up?
