Movies become choppy/laggy after playing for 5 episodes or more

After watching 5 or 6 episodes of drama.net  &  gooddrama.net  on my 32bit Win XP (2GB RAM X61)
or even on my 64bit Win 7 (4GB RAM  X201), the movies become choppy/laggy on the chrome.

Even restarting Chrome doesn't help & need to reboot Windows.  Why is this so & any way to
overcome this without rebooting?  I usually hibernate my Windows for faster bootup.

There are plenty of free disk space on both laptops plus some free RAM but the CPU tends to
be high after a while as shown by Task Manager?  Or is this due to video RAM running low?

My X61 is on SSD so don't think it's a disk IO performance issue

I suppose those sites require flash player : is this related to flash?

Dont think it's the dust or heat  because whenever such lags occur,
I just need to reboot the WinXP / Win 7 OS & immediately the lags are
 gone .  Will try logoff

How do I find out out the version of flash & video graphics hardware?

My Win XP is X61 (2 processor, 32 bit);  my Win 7 Profsnl is X201 (4 processor, 64bit)
In control panel/all > flash player>updates> on xp and windows 7
just click on it and then updates then check now

Logoff windows & relogin & then launch Chrome again helps speed up.
But I don't get the last URLs that I browsed anymore in Chrome

Somehow my Control Panel screen differs from what Merete posted
& I can't locate Flash in Control Panel.

From Command Line, got the following:

C:\>dir/s *flash*.* |more
