Exchange 2013 Autodiscover The target principal name is incorrect

I have migrated an Exchange 2007 (from SBS 2008) server to an Exchange 2013 running on Windows Server 2012R2. However, Autodiscover is not working properly. Note: I have uninstalled Exchange 2007 from the SBS server so the Exchange 2013 is the only exchange server in the environment. When I run test-outlookwebservices | fl I am receiving System.Net.WebException: The remote server returned an error: (401) Unauthorized. --->

I BELIEVE that I have checked all of the virtual directories. both the internal and external urls are the same. They are set the the external url of our domain which is also the same name in our SSL certificate.

I could really use some assistance to figure out what is going on here.

That is failing but I don't think I have external DNS with a correct Autodiscover.domainname.com record.
Are there any internal tests we can run to figure out what is going on?

Ok. I have added an internet domain DNS for the autodiscover. now the testconnectivity.microsoft.com site reports: Autodiscover was successfully tested for Exchange ActiveSync.

However, from Exchange shell, test-outlookwebservices | fl fails as stated before.

Any ideas of what to try?

I may have made progress but not sure if my problem is solved. I executed the following command: setspn -F -s http/mail.mydomainname.com myinternalservername

now when I run a test-outlookwebservices | fl. I get the following:

However, the my original issue with autodiscover was primarily to fix my Vipre Email Security spam filter. The autodiscover problem was preventing the spam filter from filtering the spam messages. So can someone confirm that this means autodiscover is working now? Because, thus far, the spam filter is still not working. Any help would be appreciated.

It looks like it's working from the log you sent. However it reports your exchange version as 2010....

I looked at the install guides for vipre....it seemed pretty lite on details..Is this installed on your exchange server?

We migrated from exchange 2007 to 2013. We have uninstalled 2007 from the other server.

Yes Vipre email security is installed on the exchange 2013 server.

Not really. I already know the spam engine isn't working correctly. It scans and marks the messages but won't move them to the spam quarantine folder. I thought that was because my autodiscover wasn't working. So know I am questioning if I have "really" fixed autodiscover or if something else is going on.
