Outlook 2010 count of message in junk folder is bogus

The Junk E-mail folder shows [2] messages, but when I open the folder it says, "There are no items to show in this view." I have closed and restarted Outlook.

Any ideas?

Junk E-Mails get Deleted on a regular basis(Time changed in settings) if you don't read them and they get deleted some times it bugs and shows the number before they got deleted.

None of those solutions worked. The email repository on the mail server it IMAP. I examined the junk folder there and there was indeed 2 message, but these were not showing in Outlook (except for the count). I deleted these messages and the bogus count went away.

I wonder why Outlook would not display the messages? Malformed headers perhaps?

I disposed of the problem by switching to Thunderbird.
