MS Access Error 2425 'The expression you entered has a function name that Microsoft Access can't find

I have over 200 users of my software. A few weeks ago, a client called me with this problem.  The program had been working for many months.  I worked on it overnight with no success.  Early next morning, the client called to tell me it was working, even though I hadn't changed anything.

A week later, another client had the same problem.  I worked on it with no success and again the client called me the next day to say it was all working.

A week after that, a third client called but this time it didn't go away.

In each case I had uninstalled and re-installed.  The clients all said they had no changes to their machines (but I assume except maybe Microsoft Windows updates).

Can anyone help?

Thanks in advance,

2 out 3 three isn't bad ... I wouldn't worry about it :-)

Meanwhile ... kind of sounds like a typical Reference (missing) error ... where simple, common functions like Len(), Right() and many other just flat ass break ... all because of a missing Reference - due possible to some change in the system (Office update, etc).

Not really much information to go on.
This error is usually due to a reference not being able to be found - usually because the underlying file has been deleted, moved or downgraded.

The fact that they come back is puzzling. It is possible that you new version has picked up a later version of a file that what is on their system (i.e if yours now references Excel 2013, and they have Excel 2010, you have a problem) - this example is probably over the top.

Fort he one that won't, go to Tool References in VBA and determine which one shows as missing, then work from there.

Thank you all.

I followed  Jim's link and I think the March Office Update is most likely cause of the problem.  I will uninstall it and report back.

Perfect, Jim.  I can't thank you enough.
