Fios is not available. &nbsp;Our customers need to reach <a href="http://our_server_name.ourcompany.com" rel="ugc">http://our_server_name.ourcompany.com</a>. &nbsp;I never understood how fail over solutions worked in terms of the IP address of the server. &nbsp;If it's on a comcast static IP and that link went down, how would customers reach the server via FIOS or another link? &nbsp;(I realize that's an entirely different question than Metro E vs. Comcast Business Cable modem :-)<br />

We presently have a 10 meg Verizon Metro Ethernet link to the internet to our location which has 75 users. &nbsp;We have a WAN link to another location which has 50 users. &nbsp;Those users go through the WAN to our location to go out the door for internet (through our proxy server).<br />

We would like to explore alternatives to Verizon. &nbsp;<br />

Is a 75 meg Comcast Business cable modem a suitable alternative? &nbsp;<br />

Obviously Comcast is faster but is there more to it than just speed?<br />

Metro E is nearly 10 times the cost of a Comcast Business Cable Modem connection and I'm sure is more reliable. <br />

Are there better less expensive alternatives to Verizon Metro E?<br />
