Can you ping both IP's from the server itself? If you can then that suggest that the IP's are properly bound to the nic and the IP stack is healthy. Next can you ping those IP's from a different machine on the network. If that passes then can you ping both routers from a different machine on the network?<br />

You don't state what the switch is but check that it is passing traffic for both networks.

Both routers are on the same switch and this is why I did not anticipate an issue.<br />

Strange things observed;<br />
<br />
When I traceroute from the server to its own IP on the new subnet, it actually goes out of my network to the Internet and times out on the way back.<br />
<br />
When I traceroute to the new router (gateway), it gets there in one hop. <br />
Pings from any origin work fine.

You can have multiple ip addresses but only one default route... You might need to create routing table entries for the second ip address.... Might be easier to just add a second netcard or a USB network adapter for the transition time

Are the two IP addresses bound to the same network interface? &nbsp;It sounds like the system thinks it has to route to the alternate IP, this would make me suspect that you do not have it configured properly. I have three IP addresses currently bound to my workstation and am not having this issue.<br />

The new IP is setup in the Advanced Settings like all others that work. What is different is that it uses a different netmask and it is part of an IP block routed by a separate router. That router is also entered in the default gateways.<br />

Do you think that I need to add the RIP Listener? &nbsp;I had setup these in the past without an issue but on different OSes (NT, 2000, 2003)
