Linux DDNS
Hello Experts,
I have configured DDNS with bind9 and isc-dhcp-server because of that my local domain.member have local LAN name resolution, in common with: http://mixeduperic.com/ubu ntu/seven- easy-steps -to-settin g-up-an-in teral-dns- server-on- ubuntu.htm l
Everthing works fine. (dig, ping, nslookup in local db.XXXXXX and reverse zone)
A client restart and get dhcp-options like ipadress/gateway etc. / I can determine in /var/log/messages the dhcp process but I was wondering how bind / isc-dhcp-server were storing the A or PTR Record of that client.
I am searching with grep -r /etc/ "client" with or without FQDN but I can't find any hit.
Where does bind or isc-dhcp-server store that client record. Perhaps it's implemented only in RAM?
Thanks for enlightenment.
Many thanks in advance!

DHCP server send the update to the DNS server.
I can't find any *.jrnl or jrl
Tonight I recognised that my squid3 don't work anymore. Very Strange ... I re-installed Squid3 and it doesn't work anymore. I found out that in squid.conf there must be the dns_nameservers option.

Use setfacl to grand the named user write rights in the directory.
Or make sure /var/named is owned by names.......
Or make sure /var/named is owned by names.......
you can verify ddns entries by doing a "dig" using that ddns nameserver for the zone.
