backup and DR program

Are there any useful check-lists/metrics on which to assess a companies backup and disaster recovery plans? This is currently a VMware ESXi based infrastructure with SAN. What should be the key areas of focus? Despite it being a big topic I cant see much in terms of checklists to assess how well prepared your company is in terms of DR/backups.

Apart from backups, what else should be in included in the IT diaster recovery review?

As you can see it is an involved process that all begins with risk assessment conversations. Then, the assumed risk vs budget will give you angles to continue the rest. Rest assured that everyone in this thread has probably put together the best possible plan and certainly we have all hit reality that having a hot site and SunGuard on standby with equipment on the ready does not fit every budget. Again, it's all about managing risk.
