Hello,
what are the steps to upgrade sccm 2012 R2 to support windows 10 computers. we also use EPP with our clients. would that be upgraded with the same process?

thanks for the info, but im looking to upgrade Config Manager to support Win 10. the R2 Client does not support Windows 10

Testing the DB was successful and the upgrade was seamless with the steps
Great glad to hear it.
The minimum requirements for W10 support are:
MDT 2013 Update 2
CM 1511 (now on 1602)
This upgrades CM to use the new Windows 10 servicing model.
As it's a major upgrade of your site server, it touches all parts of CM not just OS deployment.

MS have done a *lot* of work on making in-place upgrades work which drastically speeds up deployments.

PS: I would go for the latest version version of CM, 1602, unless there's a strong case not to.
