Ubuntu 15.10 Live CD login appears sporadically after I disconnect and reconnect the Internet carrier cable for the Lenovo Think Station

I would like to find out why the Ubuntu Linux 15.10 Live CD login appears sporadically after I disconnect and reconnect the COMCAST Internet carrier cable at the back of the Lenovo Think Station desktop PC after 15 minutes from selecting the Ubuntu LiveCD, Install Ubuntu Linux GUI item. If I do not disconnect and reconnect the COMCAST Internet carrier cable at the back of the Lenovo, it apparently stays frozen with the Ubuntu logo and 5 red dots blinking on and off forever.

We are installing Ubuntu 15.10 Live CD iso on a completely blank hard drive which was erased with the Linux command fdisk. At that time, I wiped out the Grub2 master record and MS-DOS table as well as the password table. Prior to that , I reconfigured GRUB2 so that I could install an open-source GUI package to delete hard disk partitions.

I would also like to know how to make the Ubuntu Linux 15.10 Live CD login appear after 5 minutes consistently. This question may be important to people who buy computers with reformatted hard drives and wish to install Ubuntu Linux from a LiveCD. Any help is greatly appreciated.

You don't need use fdisk or anything else to prepare your disk prior to installing Ubuntu. You can do that directly via it's installer. When you get to the installation type selection, you can just choose "Erase Disk and Install Ubuntu". That does all that which you manually did above. You can also select "Something Else", and then you can create a new partition table, create partitions etc.

In the Installer you can also select to download updates. That option I'd uncheck, particularly if your internet connection is unstable. You can do the updates later once Ubuntu is installed.

In the Ubuntu settings you can enable and set the screen saver and other power options. Personally on the LiveDVD I'd disable that. Things like that you can setup and configure once the OS is installed. In Live Mode it makes no sense.

@rindi, Thank you for your answer. How do I configure the Ubuntu Linux 15.10 LiveCD to disable Ubuntu Linux updates through an Internet connection? How do I configure  the LiveCD Ubuntu settings so we can enable and set the screen saver and other power options.

When you run the installer you get to a point where you can select whether you want to update or not. Just read your displays and look at all the options.

The power and screensaver options are somewhere in settings. Personally I don't use Ubuntu as I really don't like it's Unity desktop. So I don't know exactly where those settings are.

@rindi, Thank you for your reply,  What is the name of the package for the Ubuntu Linux  installer? Also, what if I cannot sudo apt-get install xxx-yyy-installer?

It is already on the LiveDVD. It is on the desktop and probably called "Install Ubuntu". You don't have to apt-get it, as it is already there.

@rindi, On the LiveDVD , I just tried Try Ubuntu without installing it. I am now at an unix shell command prompt. I was told to do something with the bootloader.
What are the next steps to permanently "Install Ubuntu"?
   Thank you.

You shouldn't be in a terminal prompt, but rather on ubuntu's Unity desktop. There you should have a bar with icons on the display's left side, and one of them is probably called Install Ubuntu or similar. Just click on that icon. Or if you can't see it there, you can also use the icon on the top of that bar, and then you can search for applications. But as I mentioned before, I don't like Unity so I don't use Ubuntu, and I'm saying this from memory. At the moment I don't have Ubuntu at hand.

As always, @rindi wrote a totally accurate answer about Ubuntu 16.04 LiveCD.
